Sting, born Gordon Matthew Thomas Sumner on October 2, 1951, is an iconic English musician and singer-songwriter who has left an indelible mark on the world of music.

Sting's musical journey began in the late 1970s when he formed The Police, alongside Stewart Copeland on drums and Andy Summers on guitar. In 1983, Sting embarked on a solo career alongside his work with The Police. His debut solo album, The Dream of the Blue Turtles (1985), showcased his musical versatility, combining jazz, pop and world music elements. The album featured hits like "If You Love Somebody Set Them Free" and "Fortress Around Your Heart." He continued to explore different genres in subsequent albums such as ...Nothing Like the Sun (1987), which spawned the chart-topping single "Englishman in New York," and Ten Summoner's Tales (1993), which featured the Grammy-winning hit "Fields of Gold."
Sting's solo career flourished throughout the 1990s and 2000s with successful albums like Mercury Falling (1996), Brand New Day (1999) and Sacred Love (2003). In 2007, he released Songs from the Labyrinth, a collection of music inspired by the works of composer John Dowland. His collaborative album with reggae artist Shaggy, 44/876 (2018), won the Grammy Award for “Best Reggae Album", showcasing Sting's ability to adapt and experiment with diverse musical styles.
Over the years, Sting's talent and contributions to music have been recognized with numerous awards and accolades. As a member of The Police, he received six Grammy Awards, including “Best Rock Instrumental Performance" for "Reggatta de Blanc" and “Best Rock Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocal" for "Every Breath You Take." As a solo artist, he has won an additional 17 Grammy Awards, including “Best Pop Vocal Album" for Brand New Day and “Best Male Pop Vocal Performance" for "If I Ever Lose My Faith in You."
